Organizing with Collections

With all of this content, it could quickly become a challenge to keep track of what's most useful to you. Fortunately there are "Collections" which allow us to group content that we migth want to use. You can group content by what course it would be most useful for, or by a topic that will help you find it again easily. It's entirely up to you.

Select the Items

Once you have found an item, if you would like to add it to a collection, to select it, click the Add to Selection checkmark. Alternatively, you can click the in the empty white space of the box that surrounds it. This will highlight the item, and will also make a new Selection box appear at the top left. If you made a selection in error, you can click in the same empty space on the item again, or click Clear All in the slection box to deselect all items.

Add it to a Collection

The selection box on the left allows you do quickly group these items by clicking Add to Collection. If you are grouping these assets specifically to send to someone, you can choose Share Collection instead. This will combine the process of creating a collection that you can reference later, and will immediately email a link with all of these itmes to someone. For more about sharing collections, see the Sharing section.

Choose an Existing Collection, or Name a New One

Choose New Collection from the list, and give it a name, such as the name of the course this media collection will be used for. You can also add a description if you may have some collections with similar names. If you have already created a collection, choose Existing Collection instead, and choose the appropriate collection from the list. Then click Add.

Viewing Collections

The Collections tab will allow you to view all of your collections. Click a Collection's name to view all of it's assets. Click Edit to get details about the collection, to change the name or the description, or to get a link to share this collection.

Editing Collections

When you edit a collection, you can view many details about it. At the top right you will see the Title and Description, which can be changed with the small edit pencil icon to their right. You can also get the Share URL, which is a great way to add a whole group of files to your IBC course. Find more on that in the Sharing section.
